Michael C. Thornhill joined the Miller Health Law Group in 2005. Mike is a 1976 graduate of Boston University School of Law. In 1973, he received his A.B. degree, cum laude, from Vassar College.

Mike provides Transactional and Compliance services to the firm. Mike has specialized in health care law and managed care law for more than 20 years, first as corporate counsel to a multi-state staff model HMO, and then, since 1984, in private practice, advising and representing medical groups, individual practitioners, IPAs, PPOs, HMOs, and other managed care organizations, surgery centers, hospitals, and other health facilities, and various other health care and managed care companies, joint ventures and suppliers in their organizational, operational and regulatory matters. These matters include managed care contracts, reimbursement, licensing questions, hospital contracts, compliance issues such as the state and federal healthcare fraud and abuse laws and "Stark", and the purchases, sales, affiliations, mergers and dissolutions of a wide variety of health care and managed care organizations.

Mike has published articles and has made presentations to many local, state and national healthcare industry organizations. He is a past Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association's Health Care Law Section, and former general counsel to the California Association of HMOs. Mike is also a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys.
